Activity log

The activity log gives you a short record of actions you have recently taken in SILWise. Use it to confirm that something you just did actually went through, such as saving a scenario draft or updating a participant’s details.

Open the organisation settings sidebar and choose Activity. This opens the Activity Log page, with your recent actions listed under Recent Activity.

Every entry falls into one of a few plain families:

  • Account activity: signing in, signing out, changing your password, and updating your account details.
  • People: inviting or removing an organisation member, accepting an invitation, and creating, updating, or deleting a participant.
  • Cost centres: creating, updating, or deleting a cost centre, and creating, renaming, archiving, restoring, or duplicating a cost-centre set, and changing which set a house uses.
  • Houses: creating, updating, archiving, or restoring a house, and updating what its rent and board figures include.
  • Calculations: saving or discarding a scenario draft, saving or deleting a finished scenario, and rendering a scenario PDF.

Each entry is a plain sentence plus how long ago it happened, for example “A house was created, 2 hours ago.”

The activity log is a quick history for your own reference, not a compliance audit trail.

  • It shows only your own actions. If another member of your organisation makes a change, such as adding a house or updating a participant, it will not appear in your log.
  • It shows your 10 most recent actions only. Older entries are not kept on screen, and there is no way to page back through them.
  • It records that an action happened, not the detail of what changed, such as the old and new value of a field.
  • It does not name which house, participant, or cost centre was affected. An entry reads “A participant was updated”, not which participant.

To review who has access to your organisation or to manage your password and sign-in, see members and roles and account and security.

Entries are ordered most recent first. Timestamps start as relative time, such as “just now” or “25 minutes ago”, and switch to a full date once an entry is more than a week old.

“How far back” is a count, not a time window. The log always shows your 10 most recent actions, however long ago they happened. If you have not used SILWise for a while, those older entries stay listed until you take 10 more actions to push them off.
